Delete my account
You can delete your Paddoco account and data yourself, from the app, at any time, without having to explain why. It is immediate: there is nobody to wait for.
How to get there: open app.paddoco.com or the app, go to My account, then the tab Leave. Direct link: app.paddoco.com/app/compte?onglet=partir.
You do not need to install anything; a browser is enough.
Three ways to leave
The “Leave” tab offers three options in this order. Many people looking for the last one actually want the first.
Pause my account
Reversible. Notifications stop and you disappear from the rider directory. Nothing is deleted: your horses, yards and friendships are waiting. Resume with one button.
Export my data
One file containing what belongs to you: profile, horses, sessions, rides, posts, exercises, progress and messages. It is created directly on your device without passing through a server.
Delete my account
Permanent, with no recovery bin. Export your data first: afterwards there will be nothing left to download.
What the app shows before deletion
The button does not delete anything immediately. First, it opens a preview that lists by name what your departure would remove, making the consequences clear:
- Yards that would be deleted with your accountbecause you are their only member and there is nobody to take them over.
- Yards to hand overwhere other members remain. You appoint a successor from the other administrators directly in the preview.
- Horses that would be deleted with your accountlisted individually with their care records, and a warning if another person is linked as a sharer.
- What your yard will retainshown as counts: payment records and past lesson bookings that will remain, detached from your name.
Only then comes the final confirmation, in two steps.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in access.
- Your profile: name, date of birth, phone, emergency contact, photo, riding level and licence.
- Your private messages.
- Your posts, replies and listings.
- Photos and files you uploaded.
- Your horses, if you are their sole owner.
- Your friendships, groups, favourites and preferences.
- Your active sessions, on every device, immediately.
What remains, and why
Some records also belong to other people. Deleting them would erase part of someone else's history.
| What remains | Why | What is retained |
|---|---|---|
| Attendance at a past lesson | It is also part of the yard's and instructor's history | The record, detached from your identity |
| A recorded payment | The yard needs to account for its finances | The amount and date, detached from your identity |
| A horse you jointly own | The horse also belongs to someone else | The horse remains; your link is removed |
| A club horse you looked after | The horse belongs to the yard | The horse remains; your link is removed |
| A conversation you took part in | Your messages are removed; the other person's messages belong to them | The other person's messages |
What can prevent deletion, and how to resolve it
Two situations prevent deletion to avoid leaving a yard or platform without anyone responsible for it.
- You are the last administrator of a yard with other members. Appoint a successor in the preview, then continue with deletion. If the yard has no other administrator yet, appoint one in the yard settings first, then return.
- You are the last platform administrator. This concerns only a handful of people. Someone else must be appointed before you leave.
To keep a horse for which you are the sole owner, transfer ownership from the horse's profile first, then return. Otherwise, the horse is deleted with your account.
If you can no longer sign in
Email [email protected] from the email address linked to your accountwith the subject “Delete my account”. Sending from that address lets us verify that the request is yours.
If you no longer have access to that email address either, tell us. We will ask for another way to verify your identity rather than delete someone else's account on your word alone. We reply within one month, and usually much sooner.
This is different from leaving a yard
If you only want to leave a yard while keeping your account, horses and friends, use “My yards” instead in the app, and leave the yard you choose. Your account remains and you can join another yard.
After deletion
Deletion is immediate and permanent. You are signed out everywhere straight away, and neither a password nor an earlier sign-in link can reopen the account. There is no recovery bin, and we cannot undo it. If you return later, you will need a new account.
Database backups may retain your account for a few more days until they rotate. They are used only to recover from incidents, never to restore your identity for other purposes.
