Equestrian tools usually start with the establishment, leaving out riders who do not belong to one: those keeping a horse at home, between clubs or riding with friends. Here, an account is all you need.

The gap, and why it existed
Yard management software assumes there is a yard. Without one, there is nothing to use. That makes sense when you sell a tool to a manager, but little sense for a rider: their horse, exercises and friends never belonged to the club.
Paddoco starts from the other end: the rider first, the yard next, and the wider community as another circle. An account is useful on its own. A yard adds to it, rather than being a condition of entry.
Your horses, at home
A horse can be linked to your account without belonging to a yard. They have the same complete profile, thirteen-category care records, advance reminders and photos.
The app never offers a setting that requires a yard when you do not belong to one: it is left out, rather than offered and then refused. A horse living at home is not offered a place in a stable that does not exist.
Your exercise library
Design riding exercises to the metre in a scale arena, using real jump dimensions, distances calculated in strides and projected dressage movements. Save them, replay them and share them with whoever you choose.

Your learning and Galop levels
Your progress from Galop 1 to Galop 7, the French riding proficiency levels, belongs to you. It does not depend on the club where you earned it, and you keep it when you move.
Your friends, wherever they are
Friendships cross yard boundaries and do not require membership of any yard. Choose what friends see of your horses, section by section: three sections are shared by default, seven are private, and you can set everything to “Only me”.
You also have your groups, private messages and listings, without needing to belong to a club.
And the wider community
You can share beyond your friends with the public circle: all signed-in Paddoco accounts. Three points matter:
- “Public” means all accounts, not the open internet. Search engines will never see your horse, profile or posts. An account is still required to access them.
- Nothing becomes public on its own. Existing content has kept its visibility settings. Sharing it more widely always requires an explicit action from you.
- You can only make public what you manage. Your own mare, yes. The club horse you share, no: that horse is not yours.
If you join a yard one day
You bring everything with you: your horses, records, library, Galop levels and friendships. And when you leave, you take it all with you. This is the promise Paddoco makes before all others.
Frequently asked questions
Can I really use Paddoco without belonging to a yard?
Yes, fully. Your horses, care records, exercise library, learning, equipment, friends, messages and listings all work without a yard linked to your account.
Does “public” mean visible on the internet?
No. In Paddoco, public means “all signed-in accounts”, never the open internet. Search engines cannot see a horse, profile or post: an account is required to access them.
Does my content become public automatically?
No. Existing content has kept its visibility settings. Sharing anything more widely always requires an explicit action from you in that item's settings.
Can I make a horse public if I ride them but do not own them?
No. You can only make public what you manage. Your own horse, yes; a club horse you share, no, because that horse does not belong to you.
What happens if I join a yard later?
You bring everything with you: your horses, their complete records, your exercises, Galop levels and friendships. And when you leave, you take it all with you.
